Our Story

In 2015 Sue Bunch and Mary Papaj met at a Telarana Fiber Arts Guild meeting; both were searching for others who might have an interest in felting. They had a dream to cobble together a few more felters and find times to felt together and learn from each other. Sue had the opportunity to meet with a fiber arts guild in Asheville, NC and loved their idea of organization: no officers, no dues, no by-laws. They were just a group of fiber lovers who enjoyed creating and learning together. Based on this idea, we had our first felting meeting in Mary’s home with ten people. It has grown from there, and now in 2020 we have over 30 regularly attending members and many who follow us on social media.

We welcome both wet felters and needle felters of all experience levels to our group. We meet the second Saturday of the month, October through April. To join, you just have to show up! There are no dues. Please see the Home page for times and location. We are a vibrant group, always interested in making new friends, sharing ideas, and welcoming new members. Our meetings often have guest speakers, hands-on activities, show and tell, and demonstrations.  Our guild members sometimes offer felting classes outside of meetings (see listings under Classes on Menu). We also have a needle felting working group that meets on a Friday, about every six weeks or so. If you have questions, would like to join us, or just drop by for a visit please contact Sue Bunch at the link below.
